Our Approach
Interesting Problems
We believe that students learn best when they are challenged with interesting problems and given the opportunity to develop persistence, try multiple strategies, and find creative solutions.
In addition to teaching the BC math curriculum, we also feature math contest questions and problem-solving activities to inspire and challenge students to apply the math they learn.
In the "Nerdy Math Clock", each hour is represented by a mathematical expression using three 9's. Notice that the "One o'clock" position is not visible. Write as many different expressions as you can for the one-o'clock position.
How many ways are there to rearrange the books on a shelf if the four math books need to stay together in one group, and the three calculus books also need to stay together in a group?
Small-group lessons
Our classes are taught in small groups so that students can get more individual attention, participate more freely, and learn from each other.
Lessons are provided online through video-conferencing, which provides multiple benefits: no travel required, safety from covid, and the option to re-watch the lesson later if missed.
